Wine commerce
What Commerce7 is, and what the WineDirect news means for you
Commerce7 is a commerce platform built only for wineries: club, allocations, tasting room point of sale, reservations and ecommerce in one system, with one customer record behind all of it.
In January 2025 its parent company, Fullsteam, acquired WineDirect's SaaS business, which is probably why you are reading this.

The short version
One customer record, five places they buy
Most wineries run the tasting room, the club and the website as three systems that email each other. Commerce7's argument is that they are one business with one customer, and the software should agree.
The practical version: a club member who walks into the tasting room is the same record as the one who bought online last March, and the person pouring can see both.
The transition
What the acquisition means for your timeline
If you are on classic WineDirect
You may “choose to remain on the classic WineDirect platform for up to 2 years”. Measured from the January 2025 announcement, that window closes in early 2027 — near enough that it belongs on this year's plan rather than next year's.
If you are on All-New WineDirect
Commerce7 will “work with you to transition to Commerce7 within 90 days, as the underlying partnership with BigCommerce is ending”. Their FAQ says their team will be reaching out, so the 90 days runs from that call rather than from a public deadline. The contract driving it is already ending, which means the call is coming whether or not it has arrived.
Talk to us about a migrationWhat the move actually involves
“All of your data will be migrated free of charge”, and they work “with contracted partners to bring over websites for free or at reduced costs”. Onboarding runs “about 6-8 weeks depending on the amount of data you have and your current website”. The data is the easy half. The website is the half that takes the time.
The money
What Commerce7 costs, and what a build costs
$59
A month on Lite, for up to $100K of annual DTC revenue, with no transaction fee. Checked against Commerce7's published pricing on 25 September 2026.
$1,249
A month on Experience, the top published tier, for $4M to $6M of DTC and a 0.75% transaction fee. Above that, Enterprise is quoted rather than listed. Checked the same day.
The verdict
So, is it a good platform?
It is a CRM that happens to sell wine
The reporting and the customer record are the reason to be on it. Evaluate it as a storefront and you will undervalue it; need a storefront first and you will find it narrow.
Wine-specific is the point and the limit
Compliance, allocations and club logic are modelled in rather than bolted on. The same decision means anything outside wine is somebody else's platform.
